Chamber Music Tour with Magdalena Kožená

The cooperation and friendship between Magdalena Kožená and Kaspar Zehnder goes back to the year 2009, when the two first appeared together in a gala concert at the Prague National Theatre. Kaspar Zehnder conducted then the PKF - Prague Philharmonia. As a flautist Kaspar Zehnder has accompanied the extraordinary singer on a chamber music tour to Prague and London a few years ago.

The large joint project, in which
meanwhile Sir Simon Rattle is also taking part at the piano, had to be postponed twice, most recently due to the birth of Magdalena's daughter Anežka.

The program includes the Nursery Rhymes (Říkadla) by Leoš Janáček, who like Magdalena Kožená also stemmed from Moravia, the Chanson Perpetuelle for voice, string quartet and piano, Ravel's «Chanson madécasses", Stravinsky's Shakespearean sonnets, songs by Johannes Brahms and a group of
Dvořák songs which have been arranged especially for this tour for voice, flute, clarinet, string quartet and piano by
Duncan Ward.

Magdalena Kožená is going to be accompanied by her husband, Sir Simon Rattle (piano), Daishin Kashimoto and Rahel Rilling (violins), Amihai Grosz (viola), David Adorjan (cello), Kaspar Zehnder (flute) and Andrew Marriner (clarinet).
